The DD6's Differential Dispersion technology provides an advanced solution to the requirements of even coverage over wide angles and medium throw distances. Designed using Martin Audio’s in-house BEM (Boundary Element Method) tools, the short throw horizontal dispersion of the horn is 120°, narrowing to 90° as throw increases. Vertically, the horn covers 60º, with greater output above the horizontal centre plane.
Features
- Ultra-Compact, ultra-versatile, passive 2-way system
- Differential Dispersion™, rotatable horn, configurable without tools
- Portrait or landscape surface mount or stage monitor use
- High-linearity 6.5" (165mm) bass / mid driver
- 0.5" (12.5mm) exit HF driver
- Magnetically retained, quick-release perforated steel grille
- Comprehensive mounting and flying options
Applications
- Theatre & live sound reinforcement
- Corporate audio-visual events
- Houses of worship
- Front fill and under-balcony
The combination of narrower horizontal dispersion and greater output above the horn’s horizontal centre plane creates progressively more HF output as the throw distance increases. The resultant dispersion pattern is ideally suited to covering audiences located on flat or gradually sloping surfaces.
The comprehensive mounting options offer an incredible degree of flexibility for any application. M8 inserts can be used with eyebolts and there are three dedicated brackets available; a multipurpose vertical tilt bracket which can be attached to the top, bottom or side of the DD6 and can be used with a top hat fitting or scaffold clamp, a yoke for fitting to walls or ceilings in any orientation, and a wall bracket with invisible fitting to a wall.

The loudspeaker shall be an ultra-compact, passive, two-way system. Its transducers shall consist of a reflex-loaded 6.5” low frequency driver and a 0.5” exit compression driver mounted on a high frequency Differential Dispersion horn. The horn shall be user-rotatable to enable vertical, horizontal and stage monitor operation.
Horizontal dispersion shall vary from 120° to 90° and vertical dispersion shall be 60°. The on-axis frequency response shall be 70Hz-20kHz +/- 3dB and the loudspeaker shall produce a maximum SPL of 119dB peak at 1 metre. Power handling shall be 150W AES, 600W peak. Rated impedance shall be 16 ohms.
The rear connector panel shall be fitted with two NL4 type connectors and a switch to select the input connections. Two NL4 type connectors shall also be fitted to the base of the enclosure. Low and high frequency sections shall be integrated by an internal 3.7kHz passive network. For optimal performance the loudspeaker shall be operated in conjunction with a dedicated electronic controller.
The multi-angle enclosure shall be made from plywood and finished with a black textured polyurethane coating. An optional white finish shall be available to special order. The enclosure shall be fitted with M8 and M6 threaded inserts to accommodate a variety of mounting options. The drivers shall be protected by a quick-release, perforated steel grille with an acoustically- transparent foam backing.
Dimensions (W x H x D) shall be 190mm x 359mm x 207mm (7.5in x 14.1in x 8.1in). Weight shall be 6.2kg (13.7lbs).
The loudspeaker shall be the Martin Audio DD6.
